This week in Decatur Illinois the Decatur Flames will be having a teddy bear toss this is possible because the partnership with the Flames organization and Outside the huddle made it possible. The toss will happen on December 15th at the Decatur Civic Center when the Flames take on Sacred heart Griffin at home at 7:30. With the teddy bear toss it will help less fortunate kids during the Christmas season. The details of the throw are simple after the first home goal people will throw teddy bears on the ice for them to be donated. If no goals from the home team are score, then after the 2nd period the bears will be thrown then to be donated.
John Smith a player for the flames had this to say about the event “This is a great opportunity to give back to the community and help out the people who fill our stands every home game.”
This will be the 3rd time the Flames have done a teddy bear toss and each year the community always shows up to support the give back to less fortunate. Last year the Flames were able to donate 400 teddy bears to kids around the area during Christmas time.
With this teddy bear toss it will be a great time to help those who have less and cannot get the things that they want for Christmas. This event can make a kids Christmas better as they will have something to look forward to when December 25th rolls around.
